About

Hello, my name is Robert Barr from Neighborhood Ministries of NW Ohio. I would like to recommend my book, “Truly In the World But Not Of It-part A”. As the liberal philosophy has taken over the educational system, it has moved increasingly from educating to indoctrination. Instead of giving an overview of various solutions and the successes and failures of them, it has moved toward giving the politically correct narrative and expecting it to be accepted without question. Textbook writers once kept up on the changes in the world around them and updated the books accordingly. In recent years textbooks have been merely reproduced with little change. They add new things of merit like information about 9-11, so they can produce new editions, but they fail to understand changes in the society around them. Information is often drawn from political narrative rather than from research.

In the book, I deal with our changing world and its effects on relationships, and how the church should respond to it. I also deal with health problems and health systems. Finally I deal with public and private welfare programs and their effect on recipients.

I would like to commend this book to you in both paperback and E-book and urge you to check out the sequel book “Truly in the World But Not of it-part B which deals with government, economics, and education.

I have a college degree in Sociology and a Masters degree in Theology and extensive experience as a pastor and social worker. I have also taught Sociology at two community colleges and researched the material constantly. This book resulted from my research and experience, but is written for the average person. While I don’t deal directly with the spiritual aspects, I understand how God’s values impact our society.  As a social worker and case manager, I have a deep understanding of the needs of the various populations and have been called on to help churches minister to various populations. I have taught at several State, national, and international conferences and currently serve as a consultant to pastors and social workers throughout the world.
