For more than a century, Saint Orison's Asylum has stood abandoned on a cliff above the sea.

Its windows are black.

Its doors are chained.

And every local knows the same rule:

Never enter after sunset.

When restoration architect Elias Vale is hired to document the ruined asylum before it is demolished, he expects decaying corridors, forgotten patient records, and the ordinary horrors of a Victorian institution.

Instead, he discovers something buried beneath the hospital.

Something older than the asylum.

Older than the town.

Older, perhaps, than the church that was built to imprison it.

Behind a wall of black glass, Elias finds the name of a patient who officially never existed.

Then he hears someone walking through the abandoned wards.

Bare feet.

Slow footsteps.

Always thirteen steps behind him.

The deeper Elias goes, the more the asylum begins to change.

Doors lead to rooms that should not exist.

Portraits develop new faces.

Dead patients appear in the windows.

And every night, somewhere beneath the building, a bell rings thirteen times.

Elias eventually learns the horrifying truth:

Saint Orison's was never built to treat the insane.

It was built to contain them.

And the oldest patient has finally awakened.
