Empire Breakers

Marooned in the rugged and remote landscape of the far north of his home planet, Menetus, Draymond Raltan flees the conquering armies of two empires. Thinking all government and military presence of his former allegiances gone, he marries into the local populace and settles. But betrayal and death, force him to leave and eventually begin an obsessive quest for revenge! Meanwhile, in the still cold though milder climate of South Menetus, the remnants of the former planet nation (which include his surviving brother Nicholas, and sister Reyda) tolerate imperial occupation. Or so it would seem. Their conquerors from the planet Cryte are far more lenient than the harsh Ishtians who occupy the planet's northern half. Some locals even collaborate with the Cryton imperial forces in return for security and peace, and in some cases monetary gain. Other, more loyal citizens to Menotion former authority, struggle with moral dilemmas, wanting their home planet free once again. Some resist, yet others value human life and strive to keep all sides in the struggle in accord, and thus less bent on mutual destruction. Draymond Raltan eventually returns to the south, and the mix ignites with intrigue and conflict!
